We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Gastroenterologist to join a multidisciplinary medical team in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services, contribute to endoscopy provision, and support service development, teaching, and clinical governance in line with UK best practice standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant-level care for patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions
  • Deliver outpatient clinics and inpatient ward consultations
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy in line with JAG standards (where applicable)
  • Participate in gastrointestinal and hepatology multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings
  • Contribute to acute medical and gastroenterology on call rotas as required
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, radiology, pathology, nursing, and allied health professionals
  • Support service development, audit, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives
  • Supervise, mentor, and teach junior doctors and trainees.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience at consultant or senior specialist level in Gastroenterology
  • Medical degree with completed specialist training in Gastroenterology (or GIM with gastroenterology subspecialty)
  • GMC registration (preferred) - candidates eligible for or in the process of GMC registration will also be considered
  • Experience in endoscopy is desirable; JAG accreditation or eligibility is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of NICE guidance and evidence based gastroenterology practice
  • Excellent clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and high quality patient care.
  • Willing to relocate in the United Kingdom.
