Consultant - ENT - Bank Contract

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multi-discipline medical team. You will be a highly valued member of our team bringing your expertise and skills in ENT, particularly intermediate mouth, minor and major ear and major nose surgeries.

You will be required to perform ENT procedures on patients referred to the treatment centre, working in accordance with treatment centre protocols and working practices.

Contract type

This is for a Bank Contract Only.

Procedures

• Mouth intermediate: Tonsillectomy, Laryngoscopy and other intermediate mouth procedures
• Intermediate nose: Septoplasty, Polypectomy and other intermediate nasal procedures
• Minor ear: excision of lesion
• Major ear: Tympanoplasty, Mastoidectomy and more complex procedures
• Major nose: Intranasal ethmoidectomy, Rhinoplasty and more complex procedures

Main duties

• Perform ENT surgical procedures on patients referred to the hospital, working in accordance with hospital protocols and working practices.
• Participate in the outpatient clinic prior to surgery and in all aspects of operative care.
• Spend equivalent of at least three days full time post in operating theatre.
• Support CPD and career development.

Qualifications and experience

• Specialist GMC Registration and UK registerable medical degree.
• FRCS ENT or appropriate specialist qualification.
• Relevant CCT or equivalent.
• Past record of academic achievement.
• Clinical skills in all aspects of ENT surgery and ability to offer expert clinical opinion.
