Job Description

Job Title: Construction Project Manager
Location: London
Salary: Competitive
Hours per week: 40
Requirements: Experience of high end residential work, in standalone property experience as a PM

As a leader in high-end construction, heritage conservation and specialist crafts in London and the South of England, we take pride in working on Britain's finest private residences, luxury hotels and most cherished historic architecture. We believe our people are our greatest asset, as it's their dedication to excellence that has been the foundation for our outstanding reputation.

As Project Manager, you'll take the lead in overseeing complex construction projects, ensuring seamless coordination between teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders. If you're an experienced leader with a strong background in project planning, commercial management, and site operations, this role offers an exciting opportunity to drive high-value projects to success.

All the responsibilities we'll trust you with

  • You'll lead and coordinate all aspects of project delivery, establishing a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and accountability. When reporting to a Project Director, you'll work in close partnership to implement project strategies and oversee key activities.
  • You'll manage multiple projects simultaneously, driving progress across all phases from pre-construction through to final completion.
  • You'll continuously refine project strategies, introducing proactive interventions to simplify complexity, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain momentum throughout delivery.
  • You'll develop and maintain dynamic Project Execution Plans (PEPs), adapting to evolving project demands. Through active collaboration with the wider team, you'll ensure clear communication, execution of agreed plans, and regular performance tracking and updates.
  • You'll take ownership of project programming using Power Project software, producing detailed schedules and maintaining them throughout the lifecycle. Your programming expertise will include industry-standard construction programme types such as Contract, Design, Short Term, and Completion schedules, with proficiency in baseline reporting, critical path analysis, and delay cause-and-effect assessments.
  • You'll engage early and work proactively with the supply chain, ensuring all parties meet contractual, commercial, and operational expectations. You'll foster strong working relationships that support performance excellence aligned with project demands.

Where you'll be based

You'll join our London Region, where we've built basements, refurbished iconic homes and added ultra-high finishes to a long list of homes. Working in London's dynamic and demanding environment calls for expert management and exceptional skills to deliver projects of the highest quality.

When you're not on site, you'll work from our modern, boutique-style London office in Westminster - just a one-minute walk from St James's Park Underground Station. The office offers secure bicycle storage, breakout areas, and an on-site gym, creating a comfortable and inspiring place to work.

Some of the rewards of working with us:

  • Unlock new skills and accelerate your career with our full support and development programmes designed to help you expand your expertise
  • Join an inclusive community where everyone is valued, respected, and empowered to share their ideas and bring them to life
  • Enjoy a rewards package that includes a competitive salary, company pension, sick pay, life cover, maternity/paternity pay and recognition through long service awards
  • A holiday allowance that increases with your length of service, plus bank holidays.
  • Get the best deals at your favourite places to shop with our exclusive discounts at top retailers and supermarkets.
  • Round-the-clock support with our Employee Assistance Programme offering expert legal advice, counselling and more to help you through any situation
  • Enjoy a restful holiday break-we close during the Christmas period, giving you the chance to relax over the festive season
  • We prioritise your wellbeing with our healthcare programmes, annual flu vaccines, and for those who will benefit, a personalised menopause plan.

The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • You'll bring proven experience managing high-value projects, typically in excess of £5 million, with a strong grasp of complex contractual, operational, and commercial frameworks.
  • You'll demonstrate effective leadership of internal project teams, typically comprising fewer than five members, including direct line management of up to three individuals, with a collaborative and people-focused management style.
  • You'll have a track record of successfully coordinating professional consultants, often across 5 to 8 disciplines, guiding and influencing multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve project goals.
  • You'll possess strong analytical skills to interpret and manage complex project data, with an in-depth understanding of change control processes and how to apply them effectively across the project lifecycle.
  • You'll have deep knowledge of two-stage project delivery, including experience managing package pricing, contract negotiation, and the proactive identification and mitigation of risk and opportunity.
  • You'll show a commitment to continuous professional development, underpinned by a history of self-directed learning and active engagement in ongoing CPD to refine your technical and leadership skills.
