NON-CONTENTIOUS CONSTRUCTION - SENIOR/PRINCIPAL ASSOCIATE 6+ PQE 12-MONTH FTC LEADING INTERNATIONAL FIRM BIRMINGHAM

BCL Legal is excited to be assisting a leading international law firm in the recruitment of a Senior/Principal Associate to join its highly respected Non-Contentious Construction team in Birmingham. This is a unique 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity, allowing you to work on high-value, high-profile projects across various sectors, including construction, engineering, and infrastructure. The role is offered on a full-time basis with hybrid working and an attractive salary and benefits package.

The Role

• Advise a diverse client base including property companies, real estate investors, public sector bodies, corporate occupiers, and contractors on complex construction and engineering matters.
• Work on major projects across sectors such as real estate development, logistics, housing, infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and more.
• Draft and negotiate key construction contracts including JCT, NEC, MF/1, and FIDIC.
• Provide advice on development agreements, funding agreements, and agreements for lease.
• Play an instrumental role in major regeneration and infrastructure projects.
• Take ownership of large, complex matters with minimal supervision and mentor junior fee earners.

About You

• A minimum of 6 years' PQE in non-contentious construction law.
• Extensive experience with construction contracts, including JCT, NEC, MF/1, and FIDIC.
• Experience advising on development, funding, and regeneration projects.
• The ability to deliver pragmatic and commercially-focused advice.
• Strong negotiation, drafting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent client handling abilities with a collaborative and client-focused approach.
• Experience in supervising junior lawyers and contributing to team development.
