As the TES Construction Manager, you are a customer-obsessed leader in the Amazon construction process. In this role, you play an integral part in implementing the facility network infrastructure, including sortation centers, delivery stations, and auxiliary buildings. Your projects encompass new builds, retrofits, and expansions.
You will review job budgets and schedules in detail to identify discrepancies, including information in contractor bid packages. Partnering with internal customers and external stakeholders, you will earn trust and work as a team to deliver results. Effective and timely communication with stakeholders is essential.
Key competencies include insisting on high standards, ensuring contracted resources meet quality and duration targets, coaching developers, design engineers, and contractors, and seeking innovative solutions to improve processes. You will manage multiple projects across various locations, combining construction, engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management. This role involves approximately 60% travel within North America.
Key job responsibilities- Supervise the implementation and management of Amazon's safety programs and standards with the project team.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ensure contractor skills and competencies are appropriate for the work.
- Operate independently within your region, interacting with leadership and stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Track budgets and schedules comprehensively, including cash flow forecasting.
- Identify and resolve factors that may impede project hand-over, striving for efficiency and frugality.
- Coordinate with authorities to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Advise on impacts of schedule, cost, and permitting changes.
- Maintain timely and comprehensive communication with stakeholders.
Act as an owner at TES to ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget project execution. Daily tasks may include:
- Site management and coordination with contractors.
- Ensuring contractors meet contractual obligations.
- Implementing environmentally sustainable solutions.
- Using Amazon information systems for project tracking.
- Negotiating contract terms and driving schedule and budget adherence.
- Participating in weekly meetings and providing input on issues and solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years of project management, real estate development, or architecture/design experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 5 years of construction experience within Canada.
