Job Description

Are you an experienced safety in construction professional?

Do you have prior experience issuing Permits To Work and inspecting loads?

Are you based in or around Swansea?

Tata Steel could be looking for you! Project Invictus is transforming the future of UK Steel. The successful applicant will be a safety conscious construction industry professional with prior experience managing safety on a large heavy industry site.

On this occasion, only applicants with full right to work in the UK already in place can be considered

Role: Temporary Works Coordinator

Location: Tata Steel, Port Talbot works, Swansea, SA13 2NG

Rate: £21.07-£22.66ph (dependent upon experience)

Contract length: 36 months

Shift Patterns: 36.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri. Timings: Mon-Thu 07:30-15:45 and Fri 07:30-14:45

Start: ASAP, pending the successful completion of a medical, which does include a Drug and Alcohol test

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the Temporary Works Register (TWR)
  • Creating and keeping an up-to-date log of every single temporary works item required across the project
  • Ensuring a design brief is issued for every temporary structure and that the resulting design is checked
  • Issuing Permit To Work
  • Enforcing formal procedural controls relating to Permit To Work, Permit To Load
  • Overseeing Site Execution & Inspections
  • Stop-Work Authority being put in place as required

Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience on a large infrastructure construction site or heavy industry site in a Health and Safety capacity
  • CSCS black card (desirable)
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
  • Completion of temporary works coordinator training
  • Driving Licence and access to own vehicle (due to nature of the works)
  • Good verbal and written communication skill
  • Good level of IT literacy
  • Approachable nature and confidence liaising with stakeholders of all level
