Check Your Eligibility - Essential Criteria

• Do you have, or expect to have by summer 2026, an Honours Degree (2:2 or above) in Computing or a closely related subject such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cyber Security or Data Science?
• Do you have an A Level in Computing, ICT or a closely related subject, or equivalent?
• Do you have GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (C) or above, or equivalent overseas qualifications?
• Do you have the indefinite right to work full time in the UK? No temporary visas of any kind permitted.
• Ideally, you will have experience of tutoring, teaching, mentoring or supporting young people in an educational setting.

What does Initial Teacher Training involve?

• A carefully structured induction into your placement school
• A short summer school (1 to 2 weeks) to prepare you for the classroom

• Training in pedagogy, behaviour management, lesson planning and assessment
• Ongoing support from subject specialists and personal mentors throughout the year

• Tax free bursary: £29,000 paid in 10 monthly instalments
