Job Description

Part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, the National Composites Centre (NCC) is an independent, open-access technology centre focused on addressing some of the world's most complex engineering challenges. You will join this dynamic organisation as it embarks on implementing its 5-year strategy, one that is growth and impact focused.

What you'll be doing

You'll join our Engineering Development group working to deliver offline NC programming support and technical direction on exciting projects across a range of industries. You'll support the development of novel technology processes and create demonstrators of the NCC's manufacturing capability in line with customer needs.

What we're looking for
  • CAD software experience, ideally CATIA v5 and/or 3DExperience
  • Familiarity with composite workbenches and design
  • Experience with automated composite manufacturing technologies, including but not limited to:
    • Automated Fibre Placement (AFP)
    • Automated Tape Laying (ATL)
    • Filament Winding (FW)
    • Ply Nesting
    • Laser Projection
  • Offline NC programming experience with some or all of the above capabilities, preferably in composites
  • Understanding of tooling solutions for composite parts and their integration with automated manufacturing methods
  • Knowledge of composite design for manufacture activities and considerations
