Contract Type:Full-time
Base Location:Warrington (covering Manchester, Greater Manchester, Liverpool and surrounding areas)

Looking for a role where every day brings something new?
We're on the lookout for two proactive, confident, and community-minded individuals to join our Taxi Compliance Team in the North. This isn't a desk-bound job; you'll be out and about across the Northwest region, helping to keep passengers safe and taxi standards high.

The role
As a Compliance Officer in our Northern Team, you'll be on the frontline, making a real difference to public safety by carrying out licensing compliance checks on taxis and drivers licensed by the City of Wolverhampton Council. Based in Warrington, you'll cover key areas including Manchester, Greater Manchester, Liverpool, and surrounding towns, working across sites, from the office and from home, depending on the needs of the service.

What you'll be doing:

  • Conducting spot checks and proactive operations on licensed vehicles and drivers
  • Investigating complaints and public concerns, gathering evidence where necessary
  • Supporting enforcement action and compliance investigations
  • Ensuring drivers and operators are meeting their licence conditions
  • Working Friday and Saturday night shifts on a rolling rota (with a 10% shift allowance)

What we're looking for:

  • A confident communicator who's comfortable engaging with the public
  • Someone who can remain calm, professional, and fair in challenging situations
  • Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • IT literate and able to produce accurate written reports
  • A reliable team player who's also able to work independently
  • A flexible approach to working hours and travel across the region

This is a great opportunity for someone ready to develop their career in compliance, enforcement, and public service. You'll be part of a supportive and experienced team committed to raising standards and keeping communities safe.

Please note: While this is a City of Wolverhampton Council role, it is based in Northern England.
