Compliance Analyst - St. Canice's Kilkenny Credit Union

We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated Compliance Analyst to join our Compliance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a compliance professional who is passionate about regulatory excellence, risk management, and fostering a strong culture of compliance across the organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, the Compliance Analyst will operate within the second line of defence, providing independent oversight, monitoring and constructive challenge to the business in relation to compliance and regulatory obligations. The role plays a key part in supporting the organisation's compliance framework through monitoring, risk assessments, regulatory analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with business owners and key stakeholders, the Compliance Analyst will help ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:Monitor, assess and interpret changes in relevant laws, regulations and industry guidelines.
Support business owners and monitor and challenge the implementation of regulatory requirements across the business.
Conduct compliance risk assessments, identify emerging regulatory risks and support risk-based decision making through analysis and reporting.
Support the development and implementation of the compliance framework and controls.
Review and assess first line owned policies, procedures and controls to assess whether they are appropriately designed, aligned with regulatory requirements, and operating effectively across the organisation.
Perform compliance monitoring and testing activities in accordance with the annual compliance plan, document findings and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare compliance reports and management information for Senior Management, the Audit/Risk/Compliance Committee, and the Board of Directors.
Maintain and support the ongoing review of the credit union's compliance registers, policies and procedures.
Support investigations into potential compliance breaches and assist with root cause analysis.
Provide compliance guidance and support to stakeholders across the organisation.
Support the development and delivery of compliance training and awareness initiatives for staff, volunteers, and directors.
Liaise with regulators, risk management function, internal audit function as required.

The successful candidate should have the following general experience:Operating in a regulated sector under external regulations and/or internal "Standard Operating Procedures" ISO frameworks.
Performing compliance monitoring and testing activities.
A history of interacting with regulators/internal auditors.
5+ years working in a regulated environment (such as Pharma, Healthcare, Food and Beverage, etc).
The following qualifications/Industry experiences are advantageous:Professional qualifications such as LCI, QFA or relevant compliance/risk qualifications.
Strong understanding of Central Bank of Ireland regulations, Consumer Protection Code, Fitness & Probity requirements, and broader financial services regulatory frameworks.
3+ years post qualification experience working in a compliance, risk or audit role.
This role is a Controlled Function CUCF2 under the Central Bank of Ireland's Fitness and Probity regime and Fitness and Probity Standards will apply.NOTE: This position will be advertised both internally and externally.
