Bury Council 5-month Contract £16.25 per hour

Bury is changing. New community facilities are opening, major regeneration projects are taking shape, and services across the borough are delivering real impact for residents every day.

Bury Council are looking for a creative, energetic and proactive Communications & Media Officer to help tell those stories.

As part of our Corporate Affairs and Communications team, you'll work across a broad range of projects including internal communications, corporate campaigns, regeneration programmes, community initiatives, housing projects, children's services, staff engagement activity and much more.

What you'll be doing

• Finding and developing compelling stories from across the council and local communities.
• Creating engaging content for social media, web, internal communications, media relations, video and digital channels.
• Building strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and service teams across the organisation.
• Delivering integrated communications campaigns that support council priorities.
• Supporting high-profile corporate projects, events and community initiatives.
• Managing media enquiries and helping to protect and enhance the council's reputation.
• Providing communications support during fast-moving and potentially sensitive situations.
