Commodity Procurement Lead • Manufacturing • 12 month Fixed Term Contract • c.£45,000-£55,000 • West Sussex

Our client, an award-winning British manufacturing institution, with an established reputation in it's field, is looking for an experienced Procurement & Commodities Lead to join them on an initial interim basis.

This is fantastic opportunity to join an established organisation, supporting a global supply chain as part of an established strategic procurement function. In this role you will work closely with stakeholders to ensure aligned and efficient procurement of commodities across multiple brands.

Responsibilities
  • Support a global supply chain as part of an established strategic procurement function; work with stakeholders to ensure aligned and efficient procurement of commodities across multiple brands.
  • Lead creation of commodity supplier strategies to drive incremental improvements; lead supplier analysis to support the procurement roadmap across functions.
  • Identify, secure and manage an effective supplier network for UK operations and shape the supply chain for outsourced manufacture products; cover existing product lines and increase involvement in new product introduction sourcing/Procurement activities with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proactively improve the supply chain, focusing on long-term improvement while adapting to changing business needs, maintaining sight of long-term objectives.
  • Procure direct materials in a manufacturing environment and manage complex supplier accounts as a trusted business partner to cross-functional teams, mitigating risk and ensuring best practice.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Proven procurement, commodities or strategic sourcing experience within manufacturing.
  • Track record of leading strategic sourcing initiatives; ability to partner with cross-functional teams.
