Have you ever considered working in Commissioning? We have an exciting opportunity to join the Commissioning Team as a Commissioning Officer.
The Commissioning Strategy states the Council's ambition is "to become an innovative and effective commissioning organisation, with access to vibrant and sustainable markets whilst maintaining positive trusted relationships with our partners".
Our commissioning approach is to:- Deliver better outcomes for residents by designing and commissioning services which are needs-led, data and intelligence driven and informed by experience
- Provide the most efficient and best value use of Council resources in the most economic, efficient, effective and sustainable way
- Support transformational change and continuous improvement to deliver improved outcomes for our residents
- Lead commissioning activity in adult services, children's services and public health
- Work with health partners to develop integrated health and social care pathways
- Improve the management of resources to provide good quality services and value for money
- Use need and demand data to develop intelligence based commissioning decisions and develop the market
- Work collaboratively with users, stakeholders and providers
- Ensure services meet statutory requirements and deliver value for money
- Support transformation of services
Commissioning is a busy team and we are looking for individuals who are highly organised, confident communicators and able to work under pressure. You don't need a background in social care or commissioning but we need the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience:
- Project management
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams
- IT and data analysis
- Presentation and report writing
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with stakeholders and providers
- A team player who is also able to work independently and escalate effectively
