The RoleThis role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career with exposure to a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. No two days are the same - you'll work with a diverse client base handling varied and interesting transactions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Corporate and Commercial Advisory:
- Advising on succession planning for family businesses and partnerships
- Handling asset and business sales and acquisitions
- Managing mergers and acquisitions (M&As)
- Advising on corporate re-organisations and restructuring
- Drafting and negotiating partnership agreements
Transactional Work:
- Preparing and negotiating shareholder agreements
- Advising on investment transactions and funding arrangements
- Handling company formations and constitutional matters
- Managing commercial contracts and terms of business
Client Relationship Management:
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships across diverse sectors
- Providing commercially-minded advice tailored to client needs
- Developing your own network and client following with firm support
- Working with companies, partnerships, charities, healthcare, and agricultural clients
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with 2+ years' PQE in Company Commercial law
- Keen to develop a broad transactional skill set across corporate and commercial matters
- Experience handling business sales, M&As, partnerships, shareholder agreements, or succession planning
- Professional and commercially-minded approach with strong business acumen
- Excellent IT skills with proficiency in case management systems
- Outstanding client care and communication skills with ability to build strong relationships
- Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple matters
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment
Desirable:
- Experience advising healthcare, agricultural, or charity sector clients
- Track record of business development or building client relationships
- Experience with family business succession planning
