This is a *Fareham* Hybrid based role with an excellent immediate start within a Public Sector organisation working on *Developing acquisition and procurement strategies.*

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial/Procurement professional to join a highly specialist environment, supporting complex and strategically important commercial activity.

We are looking for someone who can operate confidently and independently across procurement, sourcing and contract management, providing sound commercial advice and managing higher-value and complex contracts.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong Defence, Central Government or similarly regulated procurement background.

The role

You will work closely with project teams and commercial colleagues, taking responsibility for activities including:

• Developing acquisition and procurement strategies
• Leading competitive and single-source procurements
• Developing Invitations to Tender/Negotiate
• Managing complex contracts, including bespoke terms and pricing arrangements
• Leading tender evaluations and applying sound commercial judgement
• Managing supplier performance, cost, schedule and contractual risk
• Supporting contract changes and contractor performance assessments
• Providing commercial advice to project and stakeholder teams
• Supporting commercial sales activity
• Acting as a knowledgeable commercial specialist across sourcing and contract management

What we're looking for

You should have substantial experience working independently within a Commercial, Procurement or Contracts environment, with strong experience of:

• Strategic sourcing and procurement
• Contract and supplier management
• Commercial and procurement strategy
• Tendering and evaluation
• Commercial risk assessment and mitigation
• Supplier performance management
• Cost analysis and commercial MI
• Complex or higher-value contracts
• Working with senior project and business stakeholders

Experience within, Government, R&D or another highly regulated environment would be particularly valuable.

MCIPS and experience of Oracle are also advantageous.

The successful candidate will be working within a security-sensitive defence environment and must therefore also be willing and able to satisfy any additional security and vetting requirements associated with the assignment.

The role is based at Portsdown West, Fareham.

Attendance on site 2 days per week during the first month is mandatory. Thereafter, attendance will normally be monthly and additionally when required for meetings or business needs.

Due to the location and limited public transport, having your own transport would be beneficial.
