Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Commercial Manager on behalf of one of our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement commercial strategy and solutions.
• Act as the supply chain management commercial lead in all investment planning decisions.
• Building relationships with key stakeholders through early involvement and initiative-taking engagement.
• Develop the pipeline of activity and co-ordinates with the wider SCM teams.
• Conduct early market engagement to understand capacity, capability and build appetite in the market.
• Maintain a register of forecast/secured business improvements.
• Act as the senior interface and accountable person for all relevant commercial supply chain matters including escalations for the business unit.
• Proactively seeking synergies and alignment in the supply chain, including aggregation and efficiencies opportunities to maximise value for money.
• Identification of risk and working closely with the business to mitigate risk.
• Where relevant, ensure category strategies are implemented and embedded within the business.
• Develop and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensuring there is an effective communication strategy that informs key stakeholders of new policies, procedures and overarching supply chain strategy.
• Ensures alignment and collaboration between commercial and the business unit, programme or enabling function to identify the demand plan and drive value for money through effective commercial strategy and prioritisation planning.
• Advising on key commercial matters and acting as the interface between departments to ensure priorities are clearly understood, constructively challenged, articulated and met by the commercial team.
• Develop mature cross-functional working capabilities which deliver optimal commercial outcomes and strengthen relationships.
• Post Procurement co-ordination of the end-to-end supply chain.
• Driving continuous improvement with contracted suppliers and supply chain.
• Managing supplier performance.
• Supporting with negotiation of long-term supplier contracts.
• Ensuring compliance to regulations and quality standards (including GMP).
• Maintaining ERP systems to a high standard.
• Working with the Operations Manager, production and projects teams to ensure contracts are running to agreed timelines and ensuring on time delivery and product quality.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience working within supply chain or procurement (minimum 5-7 Years).
• Good Manufacturing Experience (GMP) within manufacturing industries - aerospace, automotive or defence.
• Experience working within high regulated industries - public sector, defence or aerospace.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• ERP system experience.
• Background managing suppliers and support contract deliveries.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers.
• Ability to take control and prioritise during often time sensitive and competing responsibilities.
• Can maintain compliance and policy as a commercial function.
• MS Office skills.
• Current DV Clearance.

Desirable:

• MCIPS or other relevant qualifications
• SAP
