Job Description

We're recruiting for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join a growing commercial function within a leading business services organisation.

This is an opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong commercial instincts to step into a role that sits very close to the senior leadership team and has a direct impact on winning and retaining business.

This is not a traditional finance role. You'll use your financial and analytical background to understand commercial opportunities, challenge assumptions and help shape decisions that have a direct impact on the business.

What you'll be doing
  • Analyse commercial opportunities and develop the financial models behind new business.
  • Support the business through bids, tenders and contract opportunities.
  • Assess pricing, costs, margins and commercial risks to determine whether opportunities stack up.
  • Work through different scenarios and make clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Support new business wins, renewals and customer retention.
  • Work closely with Operations to understand how services are delivered and what drives costs.
  • Partner with Business Development and Commercial teams on customer solutions.
  • Challenge the numbers and assumptions behind commercial proposals.
  • Turn detailed analysis into a clear commercial story for senior decision-makers.
  • Help identify ways to improve profitability and commercial performance.
What we're looking for

The most important thing is that you're commercially savvy, you may have recently qualified or have a year PQE.

You could currently be working in commercial finance, pricing, business partnering, consulting, accounting or another analytical role.

You'll have:
  • ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience analysing pricing, costs, margins or commercial performance.
  • The ability to work with complex data and identify what actually matters.
  • Strong commercial judgement and curiosity.
  • Confidence presenting your thinking to senior stakeholders.
  • The personality to hold your own, challenge people and operate independently.
  • A genuine interest in understanding how a business wins and makes money.
Why you should apply

This is a brilliant role and would suit someone who feels they'd like to pivot from a pure accounting or reporting-focused position and wants to use their finance background in a much more commercial environment.

You'll have regular exposure to senior stakeholders and will be expected to contribute to the conversation, rather than simply provide the numbers.
