Commercial Finance Analyst - Cost - 14-month Fixed Term Contract

We're seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to support financial planning and decision-making within our organization. Your responsibilities will include ensuring data integrity and generating reports across various business areas, collaborating closely with finance managers and key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, proactive, and innovative, capable of thinking outside the box to help the business achieve its strategic goals. Excellent communication skills and adaptability in a fast-paced, growing environment are essential.

The Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance monthly reports for budget holders
• Communicate transparently with stakeholders to support cost control and accountability
• Prepare and post month-end journals for OPEX, Direct Costs, and Capex
• Collaborate with the Senior Commercial Finance Manager to improve warehouse and distribution reporting
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts with the finance team
• Conduct variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and communicate risks and opportunities
• Develop insight reports using BI tools and NAV system to monitor and improve business performance
• Support the transition to NetSuite with ad hoc data review and reporting tasks

The Person:

• Experience in a commercial finance role within retail; familiarity with different business models (wholesale, distributor, B2C) is advantageous but not mandatory
• Accounting qualification or part qualification
• Highly analytical with strong data skills to influence decisions and identify new opportunities
• Excellent Excel skills for reporting and process improvements
• Strong communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally and at all levels
• Proactive, curious, and focused on making an impact, with a willingness to ask questions and collaborate effectively
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
