About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Commercial Contracts Manager to join the busy Contracts team of the University's Research and Enterprise Services Division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the University's research, impact, and knowledge exchange ambitions through a diverse range of industry-sponsored research activities. The role primarily focuses on contract support for the Innovation and Business Partnership team, while also supporting research development business partners and researchers across the University in various interdisciplinary grant-funded and industry-focused research projects. You will liaise with funders, project partners, and attend project meetings as required, providing clear and pragmatic advice to stakeholders by assessing contractual risks.

About you

You should have an excellent track record in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating industry-sponsored research or commercial contracts, including multi-party consortium agreements. You should possess extensive knowledge of intellectual property rights and a good understanding of contract law, export control, and data protection regulations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, with strong communication skills, able to work independently and within teams, and capable of managing multiple clients and priorities. Excellent contract management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, research-focused environment are essential.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, or qualified by experience, ideally within the Higher Education sector, industry, research organizations, or the legal profession.
