Commercial Accountant

We are seeking a Commercial Accountant to join a successful FMCG business in the Wirral. This role focuses on providing financial insights and support to optimise business performance and commercial decisions

Client Details

A highly successful and well-established FMCG business is seeking a Commercial Accountant to join the team on a 15-month fixed-term contract. This is a key commercial role partnering closely with the UK Sales function and wider commercial teams.

Description

Working as part of a small Commercial Finance team and reporting into the Finance Director, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting sales teams on rebates, promotions, tenders, costing and commercial business cases
• Providing insight on customer and product profitability
• Preparing, analysing and controlling P&Ls for designated channels
• Monitoring performance drivers and recommending margin improvements
• Running monthly and ad-hoc costing cycles and understanding material/commodity impacts
• Enhancing reporting with advanced Excel and Power BI
• Producing weekly sales reports, forecasting models and monthly commercial packs
• Business partnering with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Product Development teams

This role is primarily commercial, with a small month-end element.

Profile

• Qualified Accountant or Qualified by experience
• Background in FMCG or manufacturing preferred
• Strong commercial mindset with excellent analytical skills
• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI
• Experience with SAP is advantageous
• Partnering with non-finance stakeholders

Job Offer

• Full time position with hybrid working (3 days per week on site with flexibility around start and finish times)
• £50,000 - £55,000 + benefits + potential completion bonus
