CNC Setter Operator
Location: Coventry
Pay Rate: £21.07 - £22.48 via PAYE
Contract Type: 12 Month contract
Shifts Available:
The night shifts will also have an uplift of 33%, current shifts are 22:15-6:00 (Mon/Thurs) 18:00-2:00 (Fri)
Day shift will either be the morning shift; 6:00- 14:00 (Mon/Thurs) 6:00-12:45 (Fri) or afternoon shift; 14:00-22:15 (Mon/Thurs),12:45-18:45 (Fri) which may be rota shifts, afternoon shifts will also have a 14% uplift.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter Operator to join a leading aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist with experience setting and operating multi-axis CNC turning centres, producing precision-engineered components to exacting quality standards.
Working as part of a high-performing production team, you will be responsible for machine setup, changeovers, inspection activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring all products meet customer and aerospace industry requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate multi-axis CNC turning centres safely and efficiently.
- Perform machine changeovers and setup activities.
- Produce components to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Carry out in-process inspection using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Record measurements and process data in line with company procedures.
- Complete offsets and tool adjustments as required.
- Perform tool setting activities, including tips and insert changes.
- Support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5S initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality compliance.
- Participate in continuous improvement and team-based problem-solving activities.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and customer requirements.
Essential Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience setting and operating multi-axis CNC machines.
- Experience working within a precision engineering or aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Apprenticeship trained or qualified machinist/engineer.
- Proven ability to work from detailed engineering drawings.
- Experience carrying out machine offsets and tooling adjustments.
