The Cloud Operations Team sits within the Operations Function at Softcat and is dedicated to driving excellence in cloud strategy & execution. The team is structured into two dynamics units: Cloud Procurement & Marketplace Cloud Enablement
Together, Cloud Operations is shaping the future of cloud procurement and enablement-driving growth, simplifying complexity, and unlocking value for the business and its customers.

About the role

Youwill be leading the Cloud Procurement unit within Cloud Operations focussing on the procurement of all vendor cloud programmes for our customers. You will be responsible for managing a team of individuals at various levels in their careers to ensure objectives and team deadlines are met. You will have responsibility for ongoing management & onboarding of vendor cloud procurement programmes alongside the procurement of Microsoft Enterprise Licensing and the procurement of all Marketplace Orders via AWS, Microsoft & Google. You will be a senior contact internally for other teams and will be required to adhere to best practices and provide excellent customer service throughout.

What you'll be doing

• Daily management of the team; regular one-to-one's; managing resource & dealing with escalations whilst providing updates to the Cloud Operations Manager.
• Supporting the team to ensure all cloud orders are processed efficiently & correctly
• Working closely with the Cloud Marketplace Enablement Lead to ensure processes & people are in place operationally to support the volume of Marketplace business
• Working directly with vendors to understand cloud procurement strategies and implementing processes to support onboarding & on-going management of these orders
• Ensuring we minimise risk to the business &our customers as we implement new processes to adapt to the expansion of cloud procurement
• Collaborating closelywith the Head of Digital Strategy to support with vendor transitions on to our digital platform focussing on reducing manual procurement process & fostering automation
• Supporting the team with their training and development requirements whilst remaining accountable for vendor knowledge to be in place to support all procurement processes.
  

What we need from you

• Goodunderstanding of key vendor procurement models including Microsoft Enterprise, Azure, AWS Marketplace, Google Cloud Platform
• Ability to manage performance of others and deliver feedback through consistent,honest and motivational conversations
• Ability to problem solve queries and issues brought to you by others in theteam
• Projectmanagement of processes, people and resources to achieve company goals for team direction and the ability to utilise skills of others to support.
• Effectiveself-management: embodying behaviours that align to company values and taking career ownership to develop your management skills
