Job Description
Cloud Economics, Senior Business Development Manager, Japan, GDSP APJ

Would you like to be part of a cross-functional team focused on assessing the comparative costs of migrating and running applications on AWS? Are you skilled at defining and quantifying business value, benefits, and migration costs of improved processes and tooling? Do you have the business background, analytical skills, and communication skills needed to help accelerate cloud adoption?

As a Cloud Economics Business Development Manager, you will help AWS customers shape their strategies and IT financial models, and quantify both the cost and value benefits of running applications in the cloud. Your role involves collaborating with AWS sales teams to engage prospective customers, sharing best practices in financial strategies, and building board-ready migration business cases. You will identify economic barriers to AWS adoption and develop strategies to overcome them. Additionally, you will communicate the economic value proposition of AWS to a broad audience, including C-level executives, IT professionals, and influencers.

Your responsibilities include driving ROI and economic-related business development activities within AWS, working closely with sales teams on strategic customer engagements. You will serve as an expert in financial modeling of IT applications and infrastructures, quantifying value benefits, and bringing in other AWS resources as needed to help customers evaluate their IT options from an economic perspective.

The ideal candidate will possess financial acumen to drive engagements and interact effectively with AWS customers. Basic technical knowledge and business experience are required to communicate the economic benefits of computing to IT architects, engineering teams, and C-level executives. The candidate should demonstrate strategic and long-term thinking regarding Japanese customer needs, familiarity with complex legacy IT environments, data center economics, migration and refresh cycles, and enterprise virtualization. Proven ability to influence decision-makers through a consultative approach is also essential.
