12 Month Contract

Dublin - Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Architect to design, build, and lead modern data platforms in the Microsoft ecosystem. You will play a key role in defining data architecture, enabling advanced analytics, and driving cloud-first data strategies using Microsoft Azure and Databricks.

This is a daily rate contract role in Dublin with 2 days per week onsite requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own end-to-end cloud data architectures on Microsoft Azure
• Lead the development of scalable data platforms using Azure Data Services (eg Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake)
• Architect and implement Databricks solutions for large-scale data processing and analytics
• Define data models, data governance, security, and best practices
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Guide and mentor data engineers and development teams
• Ensure performance, reliability, and cost optimization of cloud data solutions

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years experience in a Data/Cloud Architecture role, working on enterprise scale system implementations
• Strong background in Microsoft Azure data architecture
• Hands-on experience with Databricks (Azure Databricks preferred)

Solid experience with:

• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure Data Lake Storage
• Strong SQL skills and experience with big data technologies
• Deep understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and lake house architectures
• Experience designing secure, enterprise-scale cloud solutions
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices in Azure

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Azure certifications (eg Azure Solutions Architect, Data Engineer)
• Experience with Power BI and advanced analytics
• Knowledge of Python, Spark, or Scala
• Experience working in Agile environments
