Job Description

Are you an experienced nurse educator who enjoys combining teaching with hands-on clinical practice?

We were looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Trainer & Homecare Nurse to join our field based team across the South of England. This hybrid position is ideal for a confident trainer who's passionate about developing nurses' clinical skills while maintaining direct patient contact through community based care.

Main duties of the job About the Role

In this dual role, you'll primarily focus on training and developing nurses across our clinical teams, ensuring they deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. You'll also provide specialist support to patients in their homes when required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, delivering, and evaluating clinical training programmes for nurses (face to face and virtual)
  • Assessing and maintaining nurses' competencies in line with clinical standards and best practice
  • Supporting onboarding, upskilling, and ongoing professional development of nursing staff
  • Providing expert clinical care to patients in the community as part of a flexible, hybrid schedule
  • Acting as a clinical role model and point of reference for nursing colleagues
  • Auditing and reviewing training quality, compliance, and outcomes
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring adherence to SOPs, SeOPs, and NMC Code of Practice

Job responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Trainer & Homecare Nurse to join our field based team covering the South of England. This hybrid role combines the delivery of high-quality clinical education with hands on patient care in the home setting. The postholder will design and deliver training programmes, assess clinical competencies, support onboarding and ongoing development of nursing staff, and act as a clinical role model across our services. You will also provide specialist community-based nursing care as required, ensuring safe, evidence-based practice and excellent patient outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident educator with strong clinical skills who is passionate about advancing nursing practice and supporting colleagues to deliver outstanding homecare.

Person Specification Experience
  • Current NMC registration (RN, RGN, or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering clinical training or education to nurses
  • Hands on clinical nursing experience, ideally in community or homecare
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skillsAbility to assess competencies and maintain standards in line with NMC guidelines
  • Flexible, confident, and approachable with staff and patients
  • Full UK driving licence (field based role)
  • Teaching or education qualification (PG Cert, CET, or equivalent)Experience mentoring or coaching nursing staff
  • Experience with virtual/remote training delivery
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, audit, or quality improvement
