Digital Services are supporting clinicians to deliver clinical services in a diverse and ever-changingway. We are looking for an experienced person to join our team as a Clinical Systems Manager, with responsibility for functionality within our Electronic Patient Record, alongside line
management responsibility for a team of Clinical System Specialists.
The successful candidate will need to be adaptable, dynamic and supportive. You will be able to apply your skills across a range of services and specialties, and communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and other teams in Digital Services.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Systems Managers are responsible for taking a leading role in evaluating, designing, testing, configuring and delivering efficient and effective Clinical IT solutions in support of the Trust's Digital Strategy and Digital Hospital Programmer, including maintaining and further developing the Trust's key clinical information systems, and for the provision of expert advice and support to colleagues inside and outside of the Digital Services environments.

The role has line management responsibility for the senior clinical systems specialists and clinical systems specialists.

Person specification Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience of managing, configuring or supporting EPR and other corporate clinical systems within a large, acute NHS organisation
  • Experience of communicating complex issues to staff at all levels in a large and complex organisation
  • Guiding, organising and mentoring team members
  • Working within a team
  • Advanced knowledge and user of Microsoft Office 365 products
  • Management of teams
Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of the application of Digital to the NHS working environment.
  • Ability to analyse highly complex processes and evaluate options for improvement
  • Aptitude to solve problems using system and process solutions
  • Ability to communicate technical and other specialist issues to non-specialist staff.
  • Ability to take responsibility for a work module and escalate issues appropriately
  • Knowledge of current Digital best practice relating to health records management, including security and confidentiality
  • Understanding of the business processes and information requirements of NHS Trusts
  • Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with a wide range of people
  • Clear and effective presentation skills, both oral and written
