We are currently seeking a highly motivated Clinical Specialist Dietician to join our team in Dublin South East (CHO6). We have full time and part time opportunities within our teams in Sandymount and Leopardstown.
Contract Hours: Full and part time hours considered.
Salary Scale: €68,897 - €80,302 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI's (Long Service Increments)
This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.
Annual Leave Entitlement: 33 days per annum.
Overview of the Post:
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of dietetic services to children referred into the service, including nutritional counselling and clinical nutrition support for those with complex disabilities and complex feeding issues. Working as part of interdisciplinary teams supporting children across the 4 Dublin South CDNTs, the post holder will support the nutritional management of children with low weight, complex feeding difficulties, rare neurodevelopmental conditions, and those requiring specialised nutritional support.
The post holder will act as a positive and supportive team leader in their specialism, using their clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to colleagues to support the development of their knowledge and skills, whilst maintaining a clinical caseload across the Children's Disability Network Teams.
The post holder will also participate in ongoing audit and appropriate work related research/evaluation projects in areas relevant to their clinical field.

The successful candidate will have:
- Hold a recognised qualification in dietetics approved by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.
- Be registered as a Dietitian by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.
- Have five years full time (or equivalent) post qualification clinical dietetic experience of which four years full time (or equivalent) must be consecutive in the required area of paediatric dietetics.
- Demonstrate a proven record of clinical excellence in the specialism.
- Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the required area of paediatric dietetics, in the form of post graduate qualifications or relevant courses.
- Demonstrate achievement in the areas of research, clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching and research.
- Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, management, leadership and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
Statutory Registration
- Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Dietitians Register maintained by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
- On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Dietitians Register maintained by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU and confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland.
- Evidence of post graduation continuous professional development, which must include training in the management of complex feeding problems.
- Post graduate paediatric dietetic experience, including working with children with Feeding, Eating, Drinking & Swallowing (FEDS) needs.
- Postgraduate experience of working with children with disabilities (in a community based setting).
- Knowledge of the assessment and treatment of complex feeding and health issues.
- The post will be subject to reference checks and may be subject to Garda vetting/police clearance, as relevant.
