Band 6 Clinical Research Practitioner/Nurse - Stroke.
St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's largest healthcare organisations in south west London, offering specialist care in neurosciences, cardiac care, stroke and cancer. The Trust shares its main hospital site with St. George's University of London and is linked to Kingston Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences.
The Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) provides 24/7 thrombectomy and acute care for patients in south west London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. The Acute Stroke Unit (SU) offers ongoing stroke care and rehabilitation locally. The Trust also provides specialist rehabilitation through the Wolfson and Queen Mary's units.
The stroke service is actively involved in stroke research and has an international reputation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Stroke Research team, one of the leading sites recruiting patients to NIHR adopted studies and industry studies.
Main duties of the job- Recruit patients to NIHR adopted studies and industry studies, including recruitment and follow up of research participants.
- Work collaboratively with a multi disciplinary team, Trust departments, the Joint Research Office, support staff, Principal Investigators and study teams.
- Serve on the clinical research rota, providing coverage to hospitals on a rota basis (day, evening, weekend).
- Work evenings and weekends (including bank holidays) from 09:00-15:00, receiving a day in lieu. Flexibility is required.
- Provide research cover in the early evening for the Hyperacute Stroke Research Centre when needed.

- Previous experience in audit and evaluation.
- Experience of explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear and simplified manner.
- Experience in clinical research.
- Diploma or degree level in nursing.
- Teaching course.
- Good Clinical Practice or willingness to be trained.
