A renewed interest in the field of rheumatology has resulted in a host of exciting opportunities to practice and develop research nursing skills in an experienced team, including clinical trials at all phases of development, and valuable observational studies with a direct impact on standard of care. Subject to patient recruitment, the team are currently collaborating with Haematology on exciting Phase I CAR-T and T-cell engager therapy trials.
The Band 5 nursewill be part of the rheumatology research team, alongside King's College London colleagues working in the Centre for Rheumatic Disease Clinical Trials Group - a EULAR Centre of Excellence for Rheumatology Research.
The post-holder will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery - supporting set-up; patient identification and recruitment; data collection including sampling and processing , as well as data management. We would welcome applications from research experienced nurses looking to work on a diverse portfolio, but would also consider applications for clinical nurses in a relevant area looking to move into research.
The post-holder will be on-site,providing nursing cover for a 5-day a week busy specialist rheumatology clinical service covering a range of conditions

Clinical: undertaking trial specific investigations according to the protocol; perform procedures in line with training received including but not limited to venepuncture, temperature, pulse and blood pressure checks, ECGs; Processing of blood samples; Administration and/or preparation of trial medication for CTIMPs.
Organisational: completion of trial case report forms and updating of medical records to document activity performed; maintenance of Investigator Site Files and related governance documentation; Preparation for audit and monitoring
Education and Training: undertake additional training relevant to the role e.g. Human Tissue Act; IATA to prepare samples for transport; take responsibility for individual training needs; attendance at off-site Investigator Meetings and/or conferences (optional) to support professional development.
Person specification Education and Qualifications- Good Clinical Practice training
- Previous experience within the NHS
- significant post-qualification work experience
- Experience in research or audit
- Prevous clinical trial experience
- Previous experience working in rheumatology or related specialities e.g. dermatology/gastroenterology
- Excellent IT skills in the following areas: email; ms word; excel; databases
- Knowledge of electronic data capture systems e.g. Medidata/MACRO
