This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly developed Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS) in Salford. We are seeking to recruit highly skilled Band 7 Clinical Specialist/Clinical Psychologist from either a midwifery, therapeutic social work, health visiting or Clinical Psychologist background. The successful candidate will have a role in supporting with the Best Start for Life perinatal and parent-infant relationships delivery plan. The successful candidate must be passionate about early intervention and have experience and knowledge of working with infants and their parents. You must have a working knowledge of CAMHs or Adult Mental Health Services and have an understanding of assessing risk, preferably within the perinatal period. Under supervision you will be expected to manage your own case load to provide high quality assessment, formulation and interventions to meet the needs of parents and infants accessing PAIRS. You will work with the wider professional network to support workforce development through training and consultation. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of professional who are dedicated to providing the best possible care for parents and their infants in Salford.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work as part of the Parent and Infant Relationship Service in Salford, supporting parents and infants to receive appropriate relational support for themselves and their babies. The post holder will contribute to the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist service to infants under 2 years and their families within PAIRS and contribute towards the Family Hubs Best Start for Life perinatal and parent infant relationships delivery plan.
The post holder will carry a caseload of infants and their parents/carers for the purpose of the assessment, formulation and intervention of parent-infant relationships. Duties may include consultation and training to professionals working in early years to promote parent-infant mental health and relationships.

Person Specification Qualifications- You must be registered/accredited with a professional body. e.g. HCPC
- You must have a recognised qualification in one of the following specialties: ? Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D.Clin Psych) ? Registered Nursing: RMN/RSCN/RNMH ? Social Work (CQSW/DipSW) ? Midwifery ? Community Specialist Practitioner/Specialist Public Health Nurse/ Health Visitor BSc Hons or equivalent
- Post qualification training or experience with infants, parents and children
- Experience in assessment and therapeutic work with children and families across the age range
- Post qualification experience of work in children's early intervention/mental health/Perinatal services
- Experience of multidisciplinary teamwork
- Experience of consulting with health care and other professionals.
- Experience in teaching and training staff from other professional groups in psychological skills and concepts.
- Experience in designing, planning and undertaking clinical research and service evaluation.
- Working knowledge of professional systems involved in work with children
- Experience of multiagency working
- Experience in evidence based interventions
- Experience of delivering training and/or consultation to multi agency professionals.
