We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Urology position in a hospital based in South Dublin, Ireland. Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a patient centred approach, ensuring dignity, privacy, and high standards of compassionate, evidence based care at all times.
  • Provide specialist clinical expertise and deliver comprehensive urology nursing care across the full patient care pathway.
  • Conduct holistic patient assessments (physical, psychological, social, and spiritual) and develop appropriate care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, scope of practice, hospital policies, and maintain accountability to nursing leadership.
  • Lead and support service development, quality improvement initiatives, and implementation of best practice guidelines.
  • Act as a patient advocate by supporting informed decision making, providing education, and maintaining strong communication with patients and families.
  • Support and educate nursing staff, students, and multidisciplinary teams, while contributing to training programmes and continuous professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensure confidentiality, manage complaints appropriately, and ensure safe use of equipment and resources.
  • Participate in audit, research, and data collection activities to monitor outcomes, improve quality of care, and support service evaluation.
  • Provide clinical leadership, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external services, and contribute to integrated, patient centred care pathways.
Requirements
  • Be registered, or eligible for registration, in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board register.
  • Have a minimum of one year's full time (or equivalent) experience in the relevant specialist area.
  • Hold a Level 9 (or higher) postgraduate qualification relevant to the specialty (minimum 60 ECTS), in line with national guidelines.
  • Candidates without the required Level 9 qualification must be willing to undertake and complete the relevant postgraduate education.
  • Demonstrate strong clinical competence within the specialist area of practice.
  • Possess the managerial and administrative skills required to effectively perform the role.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Show the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and professional accountability.
  • Provide evidence of ongoing learning and continuous professional development.
