Clinical Nurse Specialist - Haematology
Posted 14 hours 46 minutes ago by NHS National Services Scotland
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Haematology clinical nurse specialist (CNS) team. Significant investment has allowed the team to be expanded to 4 fulltime nurses; hence you will be joining a dynamic and supportive team of ACNS and CNS posts holders. These posts are outpatient based with roles including providing CNS support, nurse led follow up clinics, pre assessment clinics, participation in MDT meetings and practical procedures such as bone marrow biopsy.
Initial job plans will be appropriate to current skill level with training available and encouraged to ensure you have the appropriate practical skills, competencies and knowledge to undertake a CNS role.
The CNSs will work closely with the 2 ACNS post holders and alongside the consultant team.
The Haematology department provides care for patients with myeloid malignancies e.g. AML, myelodysplasia; lymphoid malignancies e.g. lymphomas and CLL, myeloma and other malignancies. There is also general haematology work e.g. immune cytopenias. The department also functions as a Haemophilia centre.
There will be the opportunity to learn about all aspects of Haematology. It is anticipated that the CNSs will work as a rotating, cross covering team and likely develop subspecialist interests e.g. in leukaemia, lymphoma, or bleeding disorders.
