Job DescriptionRecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for domestic and overseas candidates across hospitals, nursing homes, home care, and community care services.
We are currently hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Cardiothoracics for a hospital in Dublin, Ireland .
37.5 hours per week(Full Time)
Responsibilities
Provide a specialist nursing service across the continuum of care for patients requiring respiratory and cardiothoracic support, using evidence-based practice.
Undertake comprehensive patient assessments addressing physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs, and review medication management including oxygen therapy where appropriate.
Request and coordinate specialist investigations and tests in line with patient needs and clinical expertise.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient-centred care, including coordinating case conferences.
Promote clinical inquiry, maintain awareness of advances in treatment, care, and research, and implement service changes in response to patient and service needs.
Provide patient and family education, supporting self-management, medication adherence, lifestyle modification (including smoking cessation), and informed decision-making.
Deliver education, mentorship, and support to nursing staff, including induction of new staff and bedside teaching.
Provide clinical leadership, contribute to the development and implementation of standards, policies, and guidelines, and support safe, cost-effective service delivery.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, education audits, and information systems, including electronic systems such as TMS, and participate in clinical audit and quality review.
Demonstrate ongoing professional development, act as a role model within NMBI Scope of Practice, and actively participate in research, audit, quality, and infection prevention initiatives.
RequirementsRegistered in the General Division of the NMBI Register of Nurses
Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
Minimum 3 years' post-registration experience, including at least 2 years in the relevant specialist area
Demonstrated vision, innovation, flexibility, with strong communication and management skills
Educated to Higher Diploma level or above, or willingness to enter a contractual agreement to obtain a relevant Higher Diploma
Full knowledge of the Domains of Competence as set out by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
Ability to work independently and on own initiative
