We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 -Clinical Facilitator- Intensive Care Unit in our Hospital in Cork, Ireland.

Full time, Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff in the ICU, ensuring delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
  • Facilitate education, training, and competency development of ICU nursing staff, including orientation and ongoing professional development.
  • Act as a clinical expert and resource in critical care, supporting staff in complex patient management and decision-making.
  • Promote best practice standards, guidelines, and protocols specific to intensive care nursing.
  • Coordinate and support clinical teaching, simulation training, and skill development initiatives within the unit.
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical practices, identifying areas for improvement and supporting quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support staff in maintaining accurate documentation and adherence to clinical governance and patient safety standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and ensure integrated care delivery.
  • Assist in staff performance development, mentorship, and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control measures, and health & safety regulations within the ICU setting.
Requirements
  • Be a Registered General Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board register.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and clinical expertise in Intensive Care Nursing.
  • Hold a Higher Diploma in Intensive Care Nursing (desirable).
  • Have prior experience in a cardiothoracic setting (preferred).
  • Have a minimum of three years' experience in a people management or leadership role.
  • Demonstrate proven leadership and change management capabilities.
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of current nursing practices and clinical skills.
  • Show effective decision making ability with excellent organisational and time management skills.
