Clinical Lead Nurse (Band 7 - Service Manager)
Posted 9 hours 39 minutes ago by NurtureCare
Lead with purpose. Make a difference where it matters most.
Hours: Full-time, Term-Time (with flexible admin/training in school holidays)
At NurtureCare, we believe that every child with complex health needs deserves expert, compassionate care - right where they learn and grow.
We're looking for an experienced and values-driven Clinical Lead Nurse (Band 7) to join our team and lead a unique, school-based nursing service across Derby and Derbyshire. You'll play a key role in shaping how health is delivered in education settings - making a genuine difference to children, families, and the professionals around them.
This is a leadership role that blends clinical expertise with people-first management. You'll support and guide a team of nurses and support staff, work alongside Headteachers and safeguarding leads, and be a vital link between home, school, and health services.
What the role involves:
• Leading the day-to-day operations of NurtureCare's school-based nursing team
• Working closely with Headteachers, DSLs, SENCOs, and parents/carers
• Overseeing delegated care, IHCPs, safeguarding and incident response
• Providing supervision, clinical guidance and upskilling to junior staff
• Attending EHCP reviews, Continuing Care panels, and multi-agency meetings
• Driving forward service quality, audits, training and development
What we're looking for:
You'll be a registered nurse (Children's branch preferred), with a solid background in leading clinical teams - ideally in community or education-based settings. You'll be confident in managing safeguarding and complex care, and have a real passion for inclusive, child-centred practice.
This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable leading a strategic conversation with a Headteacher as they are providing mentoring to junior staff or reassurance to a parent.
Why work with us?
We're proud to be a multi award-winning provider, known for our values-led culture and innovative care models. We support our staff just as much as we support our families.
We offer:
- Term-time working with flexibility outside of school terms
- Protected clinical supervision time and reflective practice
- TEACH Training - our bespoke skills and development pathway
- Paid travel and mileage between school sites
- Training support
- Enhanced wellbeing support, retreat days and recognition awards
- Annual leave uplift for education-aligned roles
- Refer-a-friend bonuses and long-service awards
Interested?
If you're passionate about integrated care, education-based nursing, and making a difference in young lives - we'd love to hear from you.
