The Clinical Directorate within East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust is pleased to be able to expand its team with a fixed term/secondment Clinical Improvement Manager post. This role will focus on Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest, made possible via external charity funding. This is an exciting role for clinical colleagues who are passionate about person centred care, driving clinical best practice, and clinical care delivery, to influence positive clinical improvements for patients within the organisation.

The successful candidate will hold lead roles in the development and implementation of clinical improvement projects and contribute to Clinical Strategy workstreams with a focus on cardiac arrest. Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, the candidate will work closely with colleagues in the Clinical Directorate, Quality Directorate, Divisional Leadership Teams, Education team and other key roles within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Improvement Manager will be heavily involved in clinical development and delivery and will ensure the delivery of key objectives across defined clinical priorities related to their out of hospital cardiac arrest work streams.

The Clinical Improvement Manager - OHCA will have a defined authority and accountability to build and harness a system wide approach to OHCA events.

About us

The Clinical Improvement Manager will work under the Consultant Paramedic and Deputy Director of Paramedicine and AHPs, holding development and implementation objectives and accountability for their portfolio of responsibilities.

The position is a combination of home/remote working and attendance across the Region as required for training, clinical practice and staff/stakeholder engagement. Work pattern is primarily standard office hours, Mon Fri, .

You will demonstrate the EMAS Trust values and be a positive clinical leader and role model to other clinicians within the organisation. You will also be a positive ambassador and advocate for patient care, particularly within your portfolio of responsibilities.

Job responsibilities

Act as professional role model, providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research as role requires within the Trust.

Develop, implement, monitor, evaluate and continually improve systems, standards and processes to support clinical practice development for all clinical roles within the Trust.

Support the Consultant Paramedic in an appropriate range of projects.

Work as part of a team that develops Trust strategies, policies, procedures and practices in relation to research, clinical practice, education and supervision.

Represent the Trust's interests as a key stakeholder at forums & groups locally and nationally influencing strategic agendas.

Person Specification Qualifications / Professional Development

• HCPC/NMC Registration
• Has BSc or equivalent Level 6, working toward or equivalent experience

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle complex and potentially contentious situations

Experience

• Proven experience of patient care in an emergency and unscheduled care setting (OHCA)
• Proven experience of working in a project environment within the NHS
