Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy

This Clinical Fellow position offers a year of subspecialty training in endoscopy, with the possibility of extending training by an additional year. The role includes working alongside other endoscopy fellows within a dynamic gastroenterology department that has 22 consultant gastroenterologists, a staff specialist, 6 registrars, and foundation doctors. Surgical trainees may also apply and contribute to the upper gastrointestinal surgical service.
Responsibilities- Perform endoscopic procedures under supervision, including advanced lower GI (IBD) and upper GI endoscopy.
- Participate in routine services and support other Gastroenterology and Endoscopy resident doctors/fellows.
- Contribute to audit and research projects and maintain evidence-based practice.
- Engage in educational activities, including study leave and career advising provided by the Educational Supervisor.
- May be involved in out of hours rota, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
- Minimum of 4 months NHS experience in Gastroenterology.
- GMC Registration with Licence to Practice.
- Completion of foundation training or equivalent.
- Current certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS).
- Evidence of participation in evidence-based medicine, including journal clubs and presentations.
