Job overviewApplications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST6+/Senior in General Surgery (Advanced Pelvic Malignancy based at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is to commence ASAP for a period of 12 months with the possibility to support a 2027 start date.
Main duties of the jobThe successful post holder will undertake duties as required by the demands of the Colorectal Unit service, and these duties will include clinical work, elective surgery within the colorectal firm, advanced pelvic malignancy surgery, ward work, outpatient clinics and other duties as required by consultants.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesThe work will be shared by five other senior colorectal trainees and the post holder. The post holder will be expected to carry out some degree of clinical work independently and will participate in the middle grade general surgery on call rota.
The Advanced Pelvic Malignancy (APM) Fellow does not participate in the on call rota, and has responsibility for supporting the APM Specialty MDT and service. The post offers subspecialist training in advanced pelvic malignancy surgery. The post also offers significant opportunities for audit and clinical research within the Department of colorectal surgery.

Person specification Shortlistable- Agreement that the essential criteria are met (MRCS and GMC)
- Completed Specialty Registrar or equivalent training to ST6 level passing the associated competencies
- Previous experience in Colorectal Surgery
- Completion of a Core Surgical Programme for Specialty Training or equivalent
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
