Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Trust Fellow (SHO level) to join our busy and friendly Emergency Department at Musgrove Park Hospital. You will provide frontline assessment and initial management for adult and paediatric patients, under close consultant supervision. This is a non-training post with full access to departmental teaching, study leave and CPD activities.

Main duties of the job

Clerk and provide initial management of undifferentiated ED patients (adult & paediatric).

Escalate and manage acutely unwell patients appropriately; ensure safe prescribing and accurate records.

Participate in ED ward rounds, departmental governance, audits and quality improvement.

Engage with teaching opportunities, CPD and study leave.

Work a selfrostered rota over a 26week cycle (normal days, twilight shifts and nights).

Job responsibilities

Person Specification Qualifications
  • MBBS or equivalent On GMC Register with license to practice
  • Completion of FY1 and FY2Years
  • Up to date knowledge of guidelines within Emergency Medicine
  • Up to date with CPD
  • Higher qualifications and or degrees
  • Academic awards and or prizes
Experience
  • Experience in undifferentiated emergency Medicine Experience working with MDTs and discharge planning
  • At least 6 months experience working clinically in the NHS as a doctor
  • Experience of working for a minimum of 4 months in a Emergency Medicine setting.
  • Evidence of safe clinical practice
  • Clinical governance and Evidence Based Practice
