About this Role

The Climate Partnerships & Product Development Manager at Better Cotton Initiative will play a crucial role in further developing the climate portfolio. The position involves building a sales pipeline for scope 3 reduction projects, developing climate reporting systems, and cultivating new carbon removal markets for Better Cotton farmers. The candidate is expected to have experience in carbon credits and scope 3 inventory projects. Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of corporate clients for carbon reduction and removal projects.
  • Negotiate agreements balancing client expectations with farmer benefits.
  • Build partnerships with technical providers and impact investors to expand reach.
  • Lead development and implementation of climate reporting frameworks aligned with SBTi, GHG Protocol, and corporate requirements.
  • Translate complex climate and carbon accounting concepts into practical guidance for various stakeholders.
  • Align project design with client needs, ensuring measurable and verifiable climate and social outcomes.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Understand the role of climate in farmer business models and economic considerations.
  • Manage staff directly and indirectly to support this agenda.
Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated commercial experience in climate project development.
  • 7+ years of experience in managing carbon credit and climate reduction projects.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and cultures.
  • Commercial track record in brokering project delivery and meeting client expectations.
  • Ability to work autonomously with a high level of personal effectiveness.
  • Financial skills, particularly in building and managing budgets.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
