You will have a strong understanding of our clients' needs and of investment products across asset classes, enabling you to produce high-quality, client focused and timely responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs).

The teamThe Business Development Services (BDS) function partners with colleagues across Client Group, Investment Product and other parts of Schroders to grow our client base and service existing investors/consultants. BDS is comprised of several sub teams including the Central team, which is responsible for the completion of pre-sale tenders (RFPs) and post-sale servicing questionnaires (DDQs). More broadly, BDS also includes regional teams mirroring the Central team's function as well as a Consultant & RFP Data team that supports the Consultant channel by maintaining firm and product content on platforms.
What you'll doAs a Client RFP Lead Specialist, you will leverage your knowledge of client requirements and your understanding of investment products, strategies and solutions in delivering high-quality, compelling RFP submissions. You will support the team so that all client requests are responded to efficiently and on a timely basis. You will be expected to work with senior client-facing and investment team members to position Schroders and its strategies in a clear and effective way, produce high-quality, client-centric materials. You will collaborate with and support colleagues across BDS as well as other specialists in producing RFPs and DDQs, seeking opportunities for BDS to work more effectively in achieving these deliverables.
Key responsibilities- Lead in the production of high quality, client focused RFPs, working as a partner with senior client-facing and investment team members to achieve this goal.
- Lead the project management of the proposal completion process end-to-end: organising kick-off meetings, ensuring that a compelling and high-quality submission is provided to clients, where possible seeking opportunities to join clients/consultants feedback calls, and ensuring that any improvement are acted upon and fed back to the team for future submissions.
- Assist team management with the workflow allocation for client RFPs, undertaking the process of qualification and prioritisation and managing team capacity where required.
- Proactively adopt AI tools in daily tasks and share insights to improve processes and outcomes and guiding colleagues in the process.
- Provide leadership, support and guidance for those completing RFPs and other client requested collateral including DDQs, across the global function.
- Adopt a mindset of continual development and knowledge sharing by mentoring/supporting the development and progression of colleagues, supporting the whole function to remain a key knowledge and resource pool for the business.
- Build strong relations with internal stakeholders while looking for opportunities to deepen your knowledge of the client base in which you specialise, understanding the products most suited to meet their investment goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders so that standardised content about Schroders and its products is available to you (preferably in the RFP knowledge base (e.g. Qvidian , and that data is understood and readily accessible in a timely manner for RFP/DDQ completion.
- Undertake peer reviews for other team members, ensuring submissions are to the high standard expected for our clients.
- Lead, manage and/or contribute to team and wider initiatives.
- Where appropriate attend Schroders and external events to further your client, industry and product knowledge.
- Demonstrated track record of working on complex/challenging client requested documents (preferably RFPs) within asset management.
- Excellent literacy in English, numeracy and an ability to write compelling responses.
- Knowledge across public markets (e.g. equity, fixed income, multi-asset and solutions) and private markets (e.g. private equity, real estate, infrastructure finance).
- Interest in financial markets and an understanding of the investment needs and challenges faced by different client segments (e.g. pensions, insurance, wealth, etc).
- Confident and reasoned communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Bring a commercial perspective to your work.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) and an openness to grow your knowledge of other systems and platforms.
Experience working with sales, client service, investment and senior management colleagues.
Strong project management skills - an ability to manage multiple complex requests simultaneously to their delivery,
CFA, IMC or other industry qualifications.
Language skills an advantage.
Experience with Qvidian (or equivalent) for content.
Experience with Salesforce (or equivalent) for CRM.
Strong team player, with the ability to use own initiative and who is a self-starter.
