We are recruiting for an Accountant who is experienced in managing a portfolio of properties for clients. The role offers the opportunity to manage the financial administration of a portfolio of residential developments, working closely with property managers, clients, and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a strong property accounting background, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid of 2-3 days offered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day financial activities for a portfolio of managed properties.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee service charge accounting, including budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, reconciliations, and year-end reporting.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger, balance sheet, and control account reconciliations.
  • Process supplier payments, banking transactions, client refunds, and other financial postings.
  • Monitor debtor and creditor balances, prepare arrears reports, and support collection activities.
  • Assist with audit preparation, year-end financial reporting, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with property managers to ensure financial records accurately reflect tenancy, lease, and portfolio changes.
  • Maintain accurate records within the property management and accounting systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and support ongoing system enhancements.
  • Provide accounting support to colleagues and respond to financial queries as required.
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in property or client accounting.
  • Accounting qualification or part-qualified status (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of management accounts, reconciliations, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Confident communicator with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
