Job Role: Cleaning Contract Manager

WorkingHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday - flexible tomeet the needs of the business

Salary: £32,000-£34,000per annum + car allowance/company car

Location: Hybrid/Field-Based -with regular travel to customer sites across the UK and attendance at meetingsat our Chester Head Office.

Overview

We are lookingfor an experienced Cleaning Contract Manager to take responsibility for thedelivery of cleaning services across a national portfolio of customer sites.

This is ahands-on, field-based role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation- spending time on site, building relationships with customers and teams,maintaining high standards and making sure our services are deliveredconsistently and effectively.

Working closelywith our Head of Cleaning Operations, you will have responsibility for theday-to-day operational, people and financial management of the contract,ensuring we deliver against our customer commitments while continuing to improve the service we provide.

About the Role

As CleaningContract Manager, you will take operational ownership of cleaning servicesacross a national portfolio, providing a visible and responsive managementpresence for both our customers and our employees.

You willregularly visit customer sites to review standards, meet with key stakeholders,support site teams and ensure contractual requirements and agreed servicelevels are being achieved.

Peoplemanagement will be a key part of the role. You will work closely with sitesupervisors and cleaning teams to ensure sites are appropriately staffed,employees are supported and developed, and any performance, attendance oremployee relations matters are dealt with promptly and professionally.

You will alsobe responsible for managing labour, materials, equipment and other expenditurewithin agreed budgets, alongside identifying opportunities to improveefficiency, service quality and the overall customer experience.

Responsibilitiesinclude:

  • Taking fulloperational ownership of cleaning services across the assigned nationalportfolio.
  • Maintainingstrong relationships with customers and key stakeholders through regularcommunication and site visits.
  • Ensuringcleaning services consistently meet contractual specifications, agreed servicelevels and customer expectations.
  • Carrying outregular site inspections and cleaning audits, identifying areas for improvementand ensuring actions are followed through to completion.
  • Leading andsupporting site supervisors and cleaning teams to deliver consistently highstandards.
  • Managingworkforce requirements across the portfolio, including recruitment, induction,training, attendance, holidays and absence.
  • Managingemployee performance and supporting formal people processes includinginvestigations, attendance management and disciplinary matters.
  • Ensuringcontractual hours are effectively managed and appropriate cover arrangementsare in place.
  • Respondingquickly to customer concerns and operational issues, taking ownership throughto resolution.
  • Attendingcustomer meetings and KPI reviews, providing accurate performance informationand clear action plans.
  • Monitoringlabour, consumables, equipment and other expenditure against agreed budgets.
  • Producingquotations for additional and specialist works and ensuring appropriateauthorisation is obtained.
  • Ensuring siteshave the equipment, chemicals, materials and consumables required to deliverthe service safely and effectively.
  • Maintaininghigh standards of health & safety, quality and contractual complianceacross all sites.
  • Usingoperational data, audits and performance trends to identify opportunities forcontinuous improvement.
  • Supportingenvironmental and sustainability initiatives across the contract.
  • Workingcollaboratively with colleagues across Anchor Group Services to deliver aconsistent and professional service.
Requirements
  • Previousexperience managing cleaning services across multiple sites or a largecontract.
  • Strongoperational knowledge of the cleaning industry and a good understanding ofcleaning standards, equipment, chemicals and safe working practices.
  • Provenexperience managing and developing cleaning teams, supervisors or site-basedemployees.
  • Strong customerrelationship management skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholdersat different levels.
  • Experience ofmanaging service performance against contractual requirements and KPIs.
  • Good commercialawareness with experience of managing labour, materials and operationalbudgets.
  • Experience ofmanaging core people processes including recruitment, absence, performance,investigations and disciplinary matters.
  • Strongorganisational skills with the ability to manage a geographically dispersedportfolio and competing priorities.
  • A practical,solutions-focused approach with the ability to respond quickly when operationalissues arise.
  • Good writtenand verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear reports,action plans and customer updates.
  • Comfortableusing digital systems and technology to manage operational performance andreporting.
  • Full UK drivinglicence and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites across the UK.
