Job Title: Class Teacher - Nurture, Communication, and Interaction Provision
Location: Lamledge School, Shifnal TF11 8SD
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start Date: January 2026

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and skilled Class Teacher to lead a class within our Secondary Nurture and Communication and Interaction Provision at Lamledge School.
About the Role
You will be responsible for designing and delivering flexible, personalised education programmes that meet the individual needs of students in Key Stages 3 and 4, many of whom present with a wide range of needs including:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
- Communication and Interaction (C&I)
- Sensory and Physical (S&P) challenges
- Cognition and Learning (C&L) difficulties
- Complex behavioural needs
Working closely with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, and wider leadership team, you will help ensure high standards of teaching, care, and progress across the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach within the school's Nurture and Communication and Interaction base, in line with the school's development plan
- Deliver creative, inclusive, and high-impact teaching for a mixed-ability KS3/KS4 class, utilising both classroom and wider school environments
- Plan and coordinate schemes of work within your area of expertise, aligning with national curriculum developments and individual EHCP targets
- Lead by example, demonstrating outstanding teaching practice and supporting the development of colleagues
- Ensure pupil progress, engagement, safety, and wellbeing are at the centre of all teaching
- Support whole-school initiatives and actively contribute to the wider life of the school
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals to support holistic development
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a committed, creative, and empathetic professional with a strong understanding of both educational and developmental needs. You will have:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching pupils working across EYFS to KS2 developmental levels, ideally within a secondary setting
- A thorough understanding of primary curriculum frameworks and strategies for supporting children with additional needs
- Proven ability to engage, inspire, and differentiate for pupils with a range of learning and behavioural needs
- A commitment to promoting pupil voice, wellbeing, and safeguarding at all times
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and proactive attitude

Lamledge School provides specialist education to pupils with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties. We are within a commutable distance of Telford, Dudley, Stourbridge, Shrewsbury, Stone, Walsall, Wolverhampton and surrounding towns.
