Location: North West - Illingworth Ingham (Timber Supplies) Ltd
Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:30-16:30 Friday 07:30-16:00 Saturday 08:00-12:30 on a rota
Contract: Full-time

Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
A valid Class 2 (LGV/HGV Category C) driving licence
Valid Driver CPC
Valid Digital Tachograph Card
A good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Road Transport Regulations
Hiab experience/licence is desirable , but not essential - full training will be provided for the right candidate
Experience with strapping and sheeting loads
The ability and willingness to undertake manual handling and heavy lifting
Excellent safety awareness and driving standards
Good customer service and communication skills
Excellent attendance and punctuality
Previous experience within a Timber Merchant, Builders Merchant or similar environment is highly desirable.

We are now looking for a reliable and motivated Class 2 Hiab Driver to join our team.
The Role
As a Class 2 Hiab Driver, you will play a vital role in our delivery operation. You will be responsible for transporting and delivering timber and building materials safely and efficiently to customers, while maintaining high standards of customer service.
The role involves the safe loading, securing, transportation and unloading of goods, including the use of a Hiab crane where applicable. Manual handling and heavy lifting are an essential part of the role.
You will represent the company when visiting customers, so a professional, friendly and helpful approach is essential.
HOURS OF WORK
Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:30 Friday 07:30 - 16:00pm & Saturdays 08:00 - 12:30 On a Rota
Key Responsibilities of the Driver
Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with all relevant road traffic laws, regulations and company procedures.
Carry out deliveries safely, efficiently and within required timeframes.
Safely load, secure, transport and unload timber, building materials and other goods.
Operate the Hiab crane safely where qualified and trained to do so.
Undertake manual handling and heavy lifting as required.
Ensure loads are correctly strapped and sheeted before transportation as required.
Complete daily vehicle walk-around and pre-drive checks.
Carry out basic operator maintenance and report any vehicle defects or issues promptly to the Manager/Assistant.
Maintain regular communication with the Transport Department and report any delivery or vehicle issues as soon as they arise.
Complete all delivery paperwork and records accurately and return them to the relevant branch.
Maintain a professional, friendly and polite manner when dealing with customers.
Follow all company Health & Safety policies, procedures and instructions.
Wear the required PPE at all times where applicable.
Maintain excellent standards of attendance, punctuality and reliability.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
Class 2 driving licence.
Valid Driver CPC.
Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
Good knowledge and understanding of Drivers' Hours and relevant transport regulations.
Good understanding of safe driving practices.
Ability to safely handle, load and secure goods.
Knowledge of strapping and sheeting loads.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to complete delivery records accurately.
Good awareness of Health & Safety requirements.
Physically capable of undertaking manual handling and heavy lifting.
Reliable, punctual and committed to excellent attendance.
Desirable:
Hiab licence/experience.
Previous experience operating a Hiab vehicle.
Experience working within a Timber Merchant, Builders Merchant, Construction or Building Materials environment .
Don't have a Hiab licence? That's not necessarily a problem. A Hiab licence is desirable but not essential , as further training will be provided for the right candidate.
