As part of its ongoing growth, our client, a well-established insurance company in Belgium, is looking for a Claims Handler - Motor Bodily Injury and Property Damage (M/F) to join its team in Ghent on a permanent basis.
Your Responsibilities:
Motor Property Damage Claims:
- Handle motor claims from initial notification to settlement.
- Assess liability and apply Belgian conventions (e.g. RDR, CID).
- Appoint experts, manage vehicle repairs, or propose compensation.
- Monitor recoveries from third parties.
Bodily Injury Claims:
- Manage bodily injury claims from opening to final indemnity.
- Review and assess medical documentation, organize medical assessments if needed.
- Collaborate with medical advisors, lawyers, and counterparties.
- Calculate and negotiate compensation (material losses, bodily injury, medical expenses, etc.).
Customer and Partner Relations:
- Guide and support insured clients throughout the claims process.
- Communicate with empathy and clarity, especially on sensitive cases.
- Coordinate with repair shops, experts, lawyers, doctors, brokers, and other insurers.
Monitoring & Process Improvement:
- Maintain accurate records in the claims management system.
- Participate in continuous improvement of internal processes and best practices sharing.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Insurance, Law, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in claims handling, including both bodily injury and property damage.
- Solid knowledge of Belgian insurance regulations for motor claims.
- Strong organizational skills, empathy, autonomy, and proficiency with digital tools.
- Fluency in Dutch and French is highly desirable.

- Contract: Permanent (CDI)
- Location: Ghent, Belgium
- Remote work: Hybrid model (1-2 days/week)
