Civils Design Engineer - A national house builder has a requirement for a Civils Design Engineer to join their Design team overseeing Civils Design packages and technical approvals for new build developments.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake the required highway and drainage designs for projects to secure approval and, where appropriate, progress the adoption agreement with relevant Statutory Authorities.
  • Ensure the earthworks required across developments are designed in the most cost effective way possible.
  • Advise the land and planning department on the technical viability of new sites.
  • Assist in the production of layouts and technical reports for land appraisals and required working drawings.
  • Prepare outline engineering schematics for land appraisals.
  • Conduct initial negotiations and enquiries with statutory bodies on environmental, drainage, highways and other engineering issues when appraising land.
  • Brief and commission site investigations, topographical surveys and other assessment reports on land acquired.
  • Brief engineering Consultants on the scope of design so that all parties are clear and working towards the same goal.
  • Answer technical queries from other departments.
  • Encourage feedback from site teams to improve the design and implementation of future schemes.
  • Provide support to the Principal Designer to ensure full compliance with CDM regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience producing civil engineering drawings for S38 and S104 packs (roads and drainage) within the residential sector.
  • Proficiency using Causeway design packages (PDS flow), micro drainage and AutoCAD.
  • Innovative problem solving approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple developments.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in value engineering design.
  • Strong communication skills across all departments and business levels.
