Job Description

A well known client in Nottingham is seeking an enthusiastic and detail driven Civil Technician to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the delivery of high quality civil engineering projects across a diverse portfolio, working within a collaborative, multi disciplinary practice.

The role

As a Civil Technician, you'll play a key role in preparing technical drawings, models, and documentation for a range of civil and infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with engineers, architects, and other design professionals to deliver coordinated, accurate, and efficient design outputs.

Responsibilities
  • Produce high quality civil engineering drawings and models using AutoCAD and Civils 3D
  • Support the design of highways, drainage, earthworks, and external works
  • Prepare technical details, setting out information, and design layouts
  • Assist with preparing calculations, reports, and schedules
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant standards, regulations, and QA processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of CAD/BIM workflows within the team
About

We're looking for someone with strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to grow within a supportive engineering environment.

Essential:

  • Experience as a Civil/Infrastructure Technician in consultancy or similar environment
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with Civils 3D or a willingness to develop skills in it
  • Good understanding of drainage, levels, and highways design principles
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines

Desirable:

  • Experience with MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage
  • Knowledge of S104, S38, S278 processes
  • Revit or BIM experience
  • ONC/HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline
