The OpportunityAmey Consulting is a leading provider of engineering and infrastructure solutions across aviation, transport, and public services. Our Airport Infrastructure Team designs and maintains aviation assets to ensure airports operate efficiently and sustainably. We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team, with shared offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow. We welcome applicants from across Scotland.

The roleAs an Engineer, you will support a team within the Pavement and Asset Management Practice to deliver schemes for clients. Your responsibilities include designing and delivering projects such as pavement assessments and renewal schemes, ensuring roadway durability and safety.
As an Aviation Civil Engineer, your role involves designing, developing, and optimizing airfield infrastructure to meet client needs, including pavement design for runways, taxiways, and airport stands, along with all supporting infrastructure interfaces. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions. Key responsibilities include:
- Aircraft Pavement Engineering: Assess, design, and rehabilitate airport pavements using DMG27 and BAA methods.
- Airfield Planning & Design: Develop airport layouts considering operational, safety, environmental, and capacity requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Ensure designs meet aviation regulations such as EASA CS-ADR-DSN, CAP 168, ICAO Annex 14.
- Infrastructure Sustainability & Innovation: Support sustainable airport solutions, including carbon reduction and energy-efficient designs.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with clients and contractors to deliver projects successfully.
- Project Management & Delivery: Manage infrastructure projects from feasibility to construction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate within a team to produce technically sound solutions, adhering to standards and client requirements, supervising junior staff as needed.
- Prepare and review designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation to meet quality, cost, and schedule criteria.
- Assist in project initiation through to completion, reviewing survey data for pavement maintenance and rehabilitation planning.
- Produce technical reports, drawings, and specifications for airfield projects.
- Promote health and safety practices within the team.
- Engage with clients and suppliers, attend progress meetings, and respond to queries.
Degree in Civil or Aeronautical Engineering or related field.
Experience in airport infrastructure design and airfield planning.
Knowledge of aviation regulations and standards.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, check others' work, and supervise junior staff.
Proficiency with relevant software (AutoCAD) and analytical tools.
Understanding of CDM regulations relevant to highway design.
Effective team working skills, ability to deliver on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Commitment to industry best practices and professional development, working towards Chartered Engineer status.
