Civil Enforcement Officer

12-month fixed term contract - 15 hours per week with Bank Holiday working on a rota basis. 3 shifts 1pm to 6pm Monday to Friday.
£11,593.78 - £12,576.49 per annum (FTE £28,598 to £31,022 - pay award pending).
Wychavon District Council operates a range of parking services on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council.
Duties of a Civil Enforcement Officer- Issuing penalty charge notices to vehicles parked in contravention of the Traffic Regulation Orders for on street locations and in off street car parks in the Bromsgrove district.
- Work is completed mainly on foot and will involve moving between sites.
- Patrolling the local areas to maintain good traffic flow.
- Undertake ticket machine checks and assist people in the community to use our facilities.
- Make a difference to the way people can use and access parking spaces.
- Regularly assist customers at Bromsgrove Shopmobility.
Work on a rota basis, covering the hours of 1pm to 6pm for 3 days between Monday to Friday.
About you- Have a good standard of education with qualifications in English and Mathematics.
- Be highly motivated, with good interpersonal skills, and able to handle sensitive (and sometimes confrontational) situations confidently and calmly in a professional manner.
- Have good communication skills and an ability to work on your own initiative.
- Be able to travel and patrol around the Bromsgrove district, including the outlying villages; having access to a vehicle for business use is required.
- Be able to work outside alone in all weathers, walking for long periods up to 5 hours per shift.
- Be able to undertake other duties as required and provide support to other local areas when needed.
- Have experience in a similar role or in customer service, retail, and hospitality.
